Description

The Rocky Patel Gold Label Sixty measures 6 x 60 with a box press, an Ecuador Habano wrapper, a pair of Connecticut binders (one broadleaf, one shade) and Nicaraguan filler grown in Estelí and Jalapa. Among the four Gold Label sizes, none has a wider ring.

What It Tastes Like

Rocky Patel describes the Gold Label blend as earthy, with caramel and coffee and a sweet finish. We could not find a published critic review of the Sixty size itself. halfwheel smoked the Toro, which shares the blend, and reported mostly toast and earth with burnt coffee, leather, pepper and nuts, calling it steady rather than complex.

Who It’s For

  • Fans of wide cigars who like a pressed 60 gauge.
  • Nicaraguan tobacco fans curious about a double Connecticut binder.
  • Rocky Patel regulars after an everyday smoke from the brand.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Part of the regular-production Gold Label lineup, not a one-off release
  • Box-pressed, like every Gold Label size, per Cigar Coop
  • Two binders, Connecticut broadleaf plus Connecticut shade, under one wrapper

Cons

  • We found no critic score for this specific size
  • halfwheel found the Toro’s flavor range fairly narrow

About the Gold Label

Rocky Patel unveiled the Gold Label at the 2024 PCA trade show in Las Vegas. In a May 2024 Cigar Aficionado report, executive vice president Nish Patel said the blend had been with Rocky for years, and Rocky himself pitched it at the daily smoker.

Rocky Patel Gold Label Sixty FAQ

What strength is the Rocky Patel Gold Label Sixty?

Rocky Patel rates the Gold Label blend medium-full, and halfwheel agreed in its Toro review. Cigar Coop judged the Toro medium in February 2025.

Is the Gold Label Sixty the same cigar as Rocky Patel Sixty?

No. Here Sixty just names the 6 x 60 Gold Label size. The 2021 Rocky Patel Sixty line instead honored Rocky’s 60th birthday and uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper.

Is the wrapper Ecuador Sumatra or Ecuador Habano?

Cigar Aficionado, Cigar Coop and halfwheel’s later coverage all say Habano. Rocky Patel’s own page names a Habano leaf from Ecuador in its write-up but Sumatra in its spec list, and Cigar Aficionado wrote in May 2024 that retail listings of Sumatra were incorrect.

Which factory rolls the Gold Label Sixty?

Rocky Patel’s TAVICUSA factory (Tabacalera Villa Cuba S.A.) in Estelí, Nicaragua, per halfwheel and Cigar Aficionado.
