Description
Arturo Fuente Double Chateau Sun Grown
The Arturo Fuente Double Chateau Sun Grown takes its name from Chateau de la Fuente — the Fuente family’s own farm deep in the Dominican Republic, where the family’s world-renowned tobacco is grown.
Construction & Origin
Part of Fuente’s iconic Chateau Fuente series — available in Natural, Maduro, and this Sun Grown wrapper option — the Double Chateau is the larger, Churchill-sized vitola in the line. It’s built from a select blend of the Fuente family’s finest aged Dominican filler and binder tobaccos, topped with a spicy Ecuadorian Sun Grown wrapper that adds real strength over the milder Natural and Maduro versions in the same series. Every Chateau Fuente cigar is individually wrapped in a signature cedar sleeve, with less than an inch of the actual wrapper visible until it’s removed — a detail that’s become part of the line’s identity.
Flavor Profile
Medium-to-full bodied and genuinely more robust than its Chateau siblings — expect a touch of white pepper up front, smoothing into cedar, earth, and fresh coffee bean notes, with dried berries and a subtle sweetness rounding things out as the cigar develops.
Why It’s Sought After
Chateau Fuente is consistently rated in the 90s by Cigar Aficionado and has earned numerous Top 25 Cigar of the Year mentions — a genuine, longtime bestseller rather than a passing trend. The Sun Grown version specifically appeals to smokers who love the Chateau construction and consistency but want more spice and body than the Natural or Maduro options provide.
