The Arturo Fuente Destino line is a rare, commemorative line created to honor the Fuente family’s 100th anniversary, born from decades of heritage and the resilience that followed the 2011 warehouse fire that destroyed much of the tobacco originally intended for the project. The blend features a Dominican sun‑grown Habano wrapper, a Dominican estate‑grown binder, and a rich mix of aged Dominican ligero, viso, and seco fillers cultivated at Fuente family farms. The result is a refined, full‑bodied profile with notes of milk chocolate, cedar, espresso, molasses, and warm baking spice, offering a smoother, more elegant expression of Fuente’s legacy.

Description
Arturo Fuente Destino al Siglo de Familia
The Arturo Fuente Destino al Siglo de Familia is part of the Gran AniverXario Destino al Siglo line — “century of destiny” — created in 2012 to mark Arturo Fuente’s 100th anniversary since the company’s founding in Tampa, Florida in 1912. Where the standard Opus X uses a Corojo-seed wrapper, this commemorative series takes a deliberate departure: a Habano-seed Dominican sun-grown wrapper, developed specifically for this project at Chateau de la Fuente. Inside, the blend is entirely Dominican, using Fuente-grown tobaccos selected from the family’s own plantations and rolled by the company’s most experienced torcedores.
Construction & Origin
As the name suggests, De Familia is built as a tribute to everything that binds the Fuente family together — crafted for long, unhurried smokes meant to be savored rather than rushed. It’s handmade in the Dominican Republic using aged tobaccos from the family’s own farms, with the Habano-seed wrapper serving as the defining difference between this line and the more familiar Opus X.
Flavor Profile
Full-bodied and complex, with a noticeably creamier character than the standard Opus X line — big, bold notes of milk chocolate, cedar, and baking spice, rounded out by sweet spice and a smooth, lingering finish that rewards a slower smoke.
Why It’s Sought After
Destino al Siglo cigars rank among the rarest and most celebrated releases in the entire Fuente portfolio, produced specifically to honor a full century of family craftsmanship. Combined with the wrapper’s departure from the usual Opus X formula and genuinely limited production, De Familia has become a favorite among collectors looking for something both historically significant and distinct in flavor from Fuente’s more famous lines.
