The Fonseca by My Father Petit Corona is the smallest of the line’s six original sizes at 4 1/4 x 40: a Nicaraguan puro with a shade-grown Corojo ’99 wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler, all raised by the Garcia family and rolled in EstelÃ. My Father announced the six sizes for its relaunch of the brand in 2020.

Cigar Aficionado gave this petit corona 93 points in January 2021 and ranked it No. 18 among its Top 25 Cigars of 2020. Its tasters picked out gingerbread and toasted bread in a thick smoke, plus a red-pepper kick. A few months earlier, Cigar Insider (October 13, 2020) scored it 91, noting baking spices alongside the gingerbread, toast and pepper. Both reviews rated it medium-full, though My Father itself describes the Fonseca blend as medium-bodied.

About Fonseca by My Father
My Father traces Fonseca to an 1892 Havana factory, and Cigar Aficionado notes that from the 1970s the American version came out of the Dominican Republic. The Garcia family bought the trademark from Quesada Cigars (announced December 2019) and rebuilt it as an EstelÃ-made Nicaraguan puro, with first shipments planned for late August 2020.
