Description
The New World Dorado Figurado is a box-pressed, double-tapered 6 x 56 cigar from AJ Fernandez, built entirely from Nicaraguan tobacco and finished in sun-grown Habano leaf. Cigar Aficionado’s July 2022 launch report says the wrapper, the Criollo ’98 binder and part of the filler come from Fernandez’s Dorado farm in EstelÃ.
What It Tastes Like
Cigar Insider awarded the Figurado 92 points in its October 11, 2022 rating, with a medium-full strength call. The panel noted citrus oil and pine giving way to earth, dried fruit and caramel, closing on lingering wood with a trace of vanilla. Cigar Aficionado’s ratings page also lists a 92 for the cigar dated February 1, 2023.

About New World Dorado
The line borrows its name from a Fernandez farm, about five years old at launch, whose soil, he told Cigar Aficionado, looks golden rather than the ash-gray usual in EstelÃ. That 2022 release used the farm’s very first crop and was the fifth blend to carry the New World banner.
Pairing and Storage
Caramel, dried fruit and wood notes point toward a balanced Rioja, a medium-strength suggestion in our cigar pairing guide. Between smokes, follow our humidor basics guide.
