Description
The Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 3 is a 6 x 46 Corona Larga with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler. Apart from the tiny 4 x 40 No. 5, no Verocu size Tatuaje lists has a slimmer ring.
What It Tastes Like
JR Cigar, writing about the No. 3 itself, mentions coffee, cream and nuts, and a lively spice to close it out. Holt’s, describing the Verocu line as a whole, lists cocoa, coffee bean, cayenne and wood over a leathery finish, and says the blend runs a little stronger than the regular Havana VI. Strength listings split: JR Cigar rates the No. 3 medium, Holt’s rates the line medium, and Corona Cigar puts the No. 3 at medium to full.
Who It’s For
- Corona smokers who would rather have a 46 ring than a thick toro.
- Havana VI fans looking for a version of that blend with a bit more push.
- Wrapper comparers who want the Ecuadorian leaf before trying Verocu Blue.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over an all-Nicaraguan binder and filler
- Tatuaje describes a Cuban-style triple cap on its Verocu cigars
- A slimmer frame than the 54-ring No. 2 or the 52-ring No. 1
Cons
- JR Cigar puts smoking time at only 30 to 45 minutes
- Retailer strength ratings run from medium to medium-to-full, so it may not feel as strong as the “stronger Havana VI” billing suggests
About the Verocu Line
halfwheel reports that Verocu began in 2007 as a stronger take on Tatuaje’s Havana VI and gained a regular-production No. 5 in 2010. The No. 3 arrived with a later expansion that halfwheel reported shipping ahead of the 2015 IPCPR show, after Pete Johnson had previewed it at events earlier that year.
