Description
The Crowned Heads Las Calaveras 2024 LC48 is a 6 x 48 cigar from the 2024 Las Calaveras blend, with a Nicaraguan habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler, rolled at My Father Cigars S.A. in EstelÃ. It is the slimmest boxed size of this edition, which halfwheel lists as released in July 2024.
Sources differ on the wrapper’s origin. Crowned Heads’ June 2024 announcement, as reported by halfwheel and Cigar Coop, describes an all-Nicaraguan cigar with a habano wrapper, and halfwheel’s LC52 review specs say Nicaraguan habano. Neptune Cigar lists Ecuadorian Habano and JR Cigar’s description says Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro, close to the Ecuadorian habano oscuro halfwheel gives for the separate Décimo Aniversario.
What It Tastes Like
We found no dated professional review of the LC48, so these are published descriptions, not scores. Co-founder Jon Huber said the finished 2024 blend reminded him of the 2015 Las Calaveras. Neptune Cigar describes wood and spice with a sweet, fruity side and pepper through the nose, while JR Cigar mentions baking spice, cedar, leather, earth and sweet fruit. For the 5 x 52 LC52, a different size, halfwheel’s Top 25 write-up points to red pepper and coffee, and its review rated strength medium-full.
