The Crowned Heads Las Calaveras 2025 LC52 is a 5 x 52 robusto from the 2025 release, officially styled Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2025, and is wrapped in a mid-priming Mexican San Andrés leaf over Nicaraguan binder and filler. My Father Cigars S.A. rolls it in Estelí, Nicaragua, which, according to Cigar Coop, has made every Las Calaveras release to date.
What It Tastes Like
Crowned Heads’ Jon Huber has said the team chose a lighter mid-priming leaf so coffee, espresso and toffee would come through rather than hide under pepper and earth. Cigar Coop’s William Cooper (March 30, 2026) scored the LC52 88 with a “Try a Sample” verdict. Coffee led early, backed by citrus, chocolate and minerals; after the midpoint, earth and minerals took over as pepper built. He called it medium at first, then medium to full, and rated burn and draw excellent.

Crowned Heads introduced Las Calaveras in 2014 as a yearly tribute to people who died the previous year, changing the blend with each edition. The idea draws on José Guadalupe Posada’s etching La Calavera Catrina, an image the company links to Mexico’s Day of the Dead.
