The Arturo Fuente Destino line is a rare, commemorative line created to honor the Fuente family’s 100th anniversary, born from decades of heritage and the resilience that followed the 2011 warehouse fire that destroyed much of the tobacco originally intended for the project. The blend features a Dominican sun‑grown Habano wrapper, a Dominican estate‑grown binder, and a rich mix of aged Dominican ligero, viso, and seco fillers cultivated at Fuente family farms. The result is a refined, full‑bodied profile with notes of milk chocolate, cedar, espresso, molasses, and warm baking spice, offering a smoother, more elegant expression of Fuente’s legacy.

Description
Arturo Fuente Destino al Siglo de Amistad
“Amistad” means “friendship” — one of four vitolas in Arturo Fuente’s Gran Aniversario Destino al Siglo line, created to mark a full century since the company’s 1912 founding in Tampa, Florida.
Construction & Origin
Destino al Siglo — “destiny to the century” — was born from real resilience: in 2011, a warehouse fire destroyed much of the aged tobacco originally set aside for this very commemorative project, and the family rebuilt the line from what remained of their reserves. This de Amistad Robusto measures 5″ x 50, using a Habano-seed Dominican sun-grown wrapper grown at Chateau de la Fuente — a deliberate departure from the Corojo-seed wrapper used on the standard Opus X — over a Dominican binder, with aged Dominican ligero, viso, and seco fillers cultivated at the family’s own farms. It’s handmade at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia, packaged in detailed, book-styled boxes with a removable Spanish cedar tray.
Flavor Profile
Full-bodied and genuinely powerful — expect a peppery opening, joined by dark chocolate, cocoa, leather, and earthy tones, with milk chocolate, espresso, molasses, and warm baking spice developing as the cigar progresses. Cigar Aficionado specifically praised this vitola’s balance of boldness with notes of almond and orange marmalade, evolving into walnut and graham cracker by the finish.
Why It’s Sought After
Destino al Siglo ranks among the rarest and most celebrated releases in the entire Fuente portfolio, produced specifically to honor a century of family craftsmanship that very nearly lost its own commemorative tobacco to fire before it ever reached market. Combined with genuinely limited production and Cigar Aficionado’s “Outstanding” recognition, de Amistad has become a favorite among collectors chasing both history and real flavor in one release.
