Description
Arturo Fuente Forbidden X Pasion D’Amor
“Pasion d’Amor” translates to “passion of love” — one of four romantically-named vitolas in Arturo Fuente’s Forbidden X collection, part of the fabled Fuente Fuente Opus X line, alongside El Beso Prohibido, Deseos d’Amor, and Amor Sensual.
Construction & Origin
Forbidden X represents an evolution of the original Opus X, built from some of the rarest tobacco grown at Chateau de la Fuente and then aged in secret “Forbidden barrels” in a hidden area of the factory — a process personally overseen and endorsed by Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. himself. This Pasion d’Amor measures 6⅛” x 48 (sized around 48 x 156mm), a true Dominican puro with the same Colorado maduro wrapper depth the Forbidden X line is known for. Each cigar is wrapped in a cedar leaf before boxing, a nod to traditional cigar-making techniques, and packaged in detailed, elegant boxes reflecting the collection’s romantic theme. As with most Opus X releases, availability stays genuinely limited, with some retailers capping purchases at just a few cigars per customer.
Flavor Profile
Full-bodied and indulgent — expect spicy, woody notes with real sweetness throughout, along with a peppery retrohale that adds real character to the finish. The exact blend remains a closely guarded secret, but the extended aging in those Forbidden barrels shows through in a depth and complexity that stands out even among Opus X’s already-legendary reputation.
Why It’s Sought After
Forbidden X carries the mystique of Opus X’s origin story forward into something even rarer — genuinely scarce tobacco, a secret aging process, and a name and presentation built around romance and passion rather than the usual industry naming conventions. For collectors who’ve already worked through the standard Opus X catalog, Pasion d’Amor offers something both familiar in pedigree and genuinely new in execution.
