Description

The Stallone Alazán Corojo Toro is a 5 1/2 x 56 box-pressed toro that wraps an Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan filler in a Brazilian Corojo leaf. Cigar Coop listed it in 2020 as one of three box-pressed sizes in the Alazán Corojo blend, part of the Cowboy Series from Stallone Cigars.

What It Tastes Like

We found no published review of the Toro itself. The nearest is Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar Insider rating of the Alazán Corojo Robusto (5 x 54), dated February 9, 2021, which gave that size 89 points and called it medium-full. The panel noted toasty, chewy flavors with a touch of anise, a slightly tacky stretch midway, and spice at the close.

Who It’s For

  • Box-press fans who like a wide 56 ring that still stays under six inches.
  • Corojo explorers curious how Brazilian-grown Corojo compares with Honduran or Nicaraguan leaf.
  • Cowboy Series collectors who want the Corojo side of the two Alazán blends.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Three-country blend: Brazil outside, Ecuador as binder, Nicaragua at the core
  • Same blend as the Robusto that earned 89 points in Cigar Insider (February 2021)

Cons

  • We found no independent review or score for this exact size
  • Strength labels vary, from medium-full for the Robusto to full on our listing

About the Alazán Corojo

Cigar Coop reports that Stallone Cigars was started by Tony Barrios, who competes with cutting horses, and that the brand name means stallion in Italian. The Cowboy Series matches each blend’s wrapper shade to a Spanish word for a horse’s coat color. Cigar Coop’s 2020 profile named Tabacalera La Perla in Estelí as the factory; Cigar Inspector called it undisclosed in 2022, but both place production in Nicaragua.
