Description
The Matilde Quadrata Robusto is a box-pressed 5 1/4 x 50 robusto that pairs an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with a Dominican binder and a filler of Dominican and Nicaraguan leaf. Matilde Cigar Co. added the Quadrata in 2016, making it the company’s third line.
What It Tastes Like
Blind Man’s Puff scored this robusto 89 in a blind review published October 19, 2016, finding milk chocolate, black pepper and a touch of cedar up front, then leather, oak and a smoky edge in the middle before cocoa and coffee closed it out. Stogie Press (December 8, 2016) picked up raisin and red pepper early, then chocolate, coffee and fruit, with spice and dry cocoa lasting to the final puffs. Cigar Insider was cooler on it, rating it 87 and full in strength on October 4, 2016, noting leather and earth and a coarse, pepper-heavy close.
Who It’s For
