Each year, the cigar band is adorned with four coins inscribed with the initials of individuals who died the previous year, changing with every new edition. The 2023 edition sports a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over Nicaraguan filler and binders, the cocoa, earth and pepper from the Broadleaf wrapper shine through with undercurrents of cream and sweet cedar.

Construction & Origin
Las Calaveras debuted in 2014 and has released every year since, with the 2023 edition marking the 10th consecutive year of the series — one of the most robust annual limited editions in the industry. Every year brings a different wrapper: this 5 x 50 robusto is finished in a Connecticut Broadleaf leaf over Nicaraguan binder and filler, hand-rolled at the respected My Father Cigars factory — only the second time in the line’s history this specific wrapper has appeared, last seen back in 2016. The gold coins on the band carry the initials of loved ones the Crowned Heads team lost that year. Just 1,500 boxes of 24 were produced for this size.
Flavor Profile
The dark, toothy Broadleaf wrapper delivers raisin, spice, and earthy notes on the cold draw, developing into black pepper, leather, and dark cocoa through the smoke.
