Description
The Crowned Heads Las Calaveras 2022 LC52 is a 5 x 52 robusto with a Nicaraguan Corojo 99 wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler, rolled by My Father Cigars S.A. in EstelÃ. It belongs to the 2022 edition of Las Calaveras (officially styled Edición Limitada), the year Crowned Heads made the series a Nicaraguan puro for the first time.
What It Tastes Like
William Cooper of Cigar Coop scored the LC52 89 points with a “Buy One” verdict on June 14, 2023. Natural tobacco led throughout his notes, with cocoa sweetness up front over wood, earth and red pepper; by the midpoint the cocoa had gone and the pepper kept climbing, though the medium body kept it in check. He rated strength and body medium and burn and draw excellent. Quoted by halfwheel before launch, co-founder Jon Huber said the dark corojo wrapper recalls the My Father house style, pairing a firm, intense Nicaraguan backbone with balance.
Who It’s For
- Nicaraguan puro fans curious about the first all-Nicaraguan Las Calaveras.
- Smokers who like pepper that builds slowly rather than all at once.
- Las Calaveras followers who want to set the 2022 blend beside later LC52 editions.
