According to halfwheel, Jug is the third blend in El Mago’s tin program and comes from the MGE Cigars Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
What It Tastes Like
We found no independent published review of Jug, so no score appears here. In the company’s launch announcement, covered by Cigar Dojo on May 28, 2026, El Mago calls it full-bodied and lists sweet cocoa, deeply roasted coffee and spice it credits to the Nicaraguan filler.
Who It’s For
- Dark-wrapper fans who want San Andrés leaf in a short, pressed shape.
- Smokers who like a heavier robusto without a big ring gauge.
- El Mago followers working through the numbered tins one blend at a time.

About the El Mago Collectible Tin Series
Nick Fusco founded El Mago in 2021 to honor his grandparents, Maria and Gonzalo Torre, and the brand’s site says “Mago” joins the first two letters of their names. The tin series started in March 2026 with Oyama Omen and Mr. Almond, per halfwheel and Cigar Coop; halfwheel adds that every blend shares the 5 x 50 size and that El Mago plans no fewer than seven blends.
Pairing and Storage
For a full-bodied blend like this, our cigar pairing guide points to aged rum, which suits the cocoa and coffee El Mago describes. Move any cigars left in an opened tin into a humidor (see our humidor basics guide).
