Description
The Cavalier Genève BII Viso Jalapa Torpedo is a 6 x 52 box-pressed torpedo wrapped in a Nicaraguan viso leaf from Nicaragua’s Jalapa area, with Nicaraguan habano binder and Nicaraguan filler underneath. Fábrica Centroamericana de Tabaco rolls it in Danlí, Honduras; halfwheel reports that each wrapper carries a small diamond of edible 24-karat gold, meant to be smoked rather than peeled off.
What It Tastes Like
With no published review of the Torpedo, we lean on sister sizes. Cigar Insider gave the 5 x 54 Robusto Gordo 90 points on April 5, 2022, rating it medium-full and noting toasted walnut, gentle sweet wood, raisin and a salty edge over a lingering finish. The same issue scored the 6 x 60 Toro Gordo 88 for earthy caramel and cocoa marred by bitterness and an uneven burn. halfwheel’s undated 6 x 54 Toro review found it lighter in strength, with chocolate, graham cracker and buttered popcorn.
