Camacho has released a limited-edition Liberty cigar every year since 2002, timed to Independence Day — and the 2012 Throwback is Camacho going back into its own archives to recreate one of the most beloved blends the series ever produced.

Construction & Origin

This is a true Honduran Corojo puro — wrapper, binder, and filler all come from the same tobacco, using four different priming levels harvested from a single farm and single vintage, then aged four years to match the original 2012 blend as closely as possible. That single-farm, single-vintage approach is meant to deliver the kind of precise, consistent flavor profile you’d expect from a fine single-barrel whiskey. It’s rolled in Camacho’s signature 11/18 perfecto shape — 6″ with a 48/54/48 ring gauge that tapers at both ends and bulges in the middle — handmade at the Davidoff factory, and packaged with each cigar sealed in its own individual coffin-style box. Production was capped at just 2,500 boxes of 20 worldwide.

Flavor Profile

Medium to full-bodied, with real depth from the aging process — expect cedar and black pepper up front, developing into chocolate, toasted earth, and cream, with cinnamon, cola, and a subtle creeping sweetness rounding things out. It’s a smoke built to unfold slowly, running upwards of 90 minutes.
