Description
The Black Label Trading Co. Last Rites Toro is a 6 x 50 take on Last Rites: Ecuadorian maduro outside, a Honduran binder, and mixed Honduran and Nicaraguan leaf inside. Black Label announced it in March 2025 as a new core-line toro, made at Fábrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua.
What It Tastes Like
We know of no critic’s review of this Toro yet. Retailer Smoke Inn’s listing rates Last Rites medium-full and names earth, black pepper, black coffee and dark chocolate among its flavors. Stogie Press, reviewing the related box-pressed Viaticum on October 27, 2019, met pepper first, then spiced fruit, cedar and dry citrus, closing sweet and earthy.
Who It’s For
- Maduro smokers drawn to Ecuadorian leaf over a Honduran binder.
- Existing Last Rites fans who want the blend in a six-inch length.
- Side-by-side tasters, as Royalty, Lawless and Porcelain also come as 6 x 50 toros (Stogie Press, July 2026).

Pros
- A three-country blend: Ecuador, Honduras and Nicaragua, per Smoke Inn
- Made at Black Label’s own Nicaraguan factory, per Stogie Press
Cons
- We found no independent review or score for the Toro size
- Strength reports range from medium-full (Smoke Inn, CigarsDirect) to full (our listing)
About the Last Rites
Last Rites goes back to 2013. Speaking to Stogie Press in October 2019, James Brown called it the first cigar he blended alone, tuned to his own palate. Smoke Inn lists five sizes, from a 6 1/2 x 42 Petite Lancero to a 6 x 60 Grand Toro.
