Construction & Origin

In 2012, a factory fire destroyed bales of decades-aged tobacco that Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. had set aside for a special release marking the company’s 100th anniversary. Rather than let the loss pass unmarked, Fuente named the resulting cigar “Angel’s Share,” borrowing winemaking’s term for the portion of liquid that evaporates from barrels during aging — tradition holds that guardian angels watch over the aging spirit, sample it, and bless it in return. This Perfecxion X measures 6¼” x 48, a true Dominican puro built entirely from Dominican wrapper, binder, and filler, with a wrapper pulled specifically from the tobacco plant’s middle priming rather than the top priming used on the standard Opus X — Carlito believes this section holds the real heart of the flavor. It’s handcrafted at the Fuente family’s Dominican Republic factory, and due to genuinely limited availability, is typically capped at a handful of cigars per customer. A portion of every sale supports the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation.
