Description
The Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 2 is a 5 1/2 x 54 robusto grande with an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler, made in Nicaragua. Holt’s presents the Verocu blend as a slightly stronger cousin of the standard Havana VI.
What It Tastes Like
We could not find a dated, independent review of this exact vitola, so we quote no score here. Holt’s line-wide description lists cayenne, cocoa, coffee bean and wood, with leather lingering at the end. Tatuaje itself frames the blend as medium-bodied and Cuban in style.
Who It’s For
- Havana VI regulars who want the same house style with a bit more strength.
- Robusto smokers who like a fat 54 ring in a 5 1/2 inch length.
- Fans of pepper and cocoa, the notes Holt’s highlights for this line.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Blended by Pepin and Jaime Garcia for founder Pete Johnson, per Holt’s
- Finished with a Cuban-style triple cap, per Tatuaje
Cons
- Sources disagree on whether it is medium or medium-full
- The 54 ring may feel bulky if you prefer slim coronas
About the Havana VI Verocu
According to halfwheel, Johnson introduced Verocu in 2007 as two regional cigars: Zona del Este, a 5 1/2 x 54 sent to eastern U.S. shops, and Lado Occidental, a 6 1/4 x 52 for the West. The pair later grew into a regular line with numbered sizes, and the No. 2 keeps the eastern cigar’s dimensions.
