Introduced in 1994 to mark Padrón’s 30th anniversary, this 6 x 52 box-pressed torpedo is built from 100% Nicaraguan sun-grown, Cuban-seed tobacco aged a minimum of four years, hand-rolled at Tabacos Cubanica S.A. José Padrón personally decided to give the line its now-signature box-press, wanting a shape reminiscent of the cigars he once enjoyed in Cuba — a presentation that had virtually no precedent in the market at the time and went on to reshape the entire premium cigar industry toward box-pressed and trunk-pressed shapes.
