The Viaje TNT is one of Viaje’s most recognizable annual traditions — a cigar built to look, and smoke, like the explosive it’s named after, released to mark Independence Day since 2010.

Construction & Origin

This 6½ x 56 toro extra uses a rare Nicaraguan Corojo 99 Maduro wrapper over an undisclosed binder and filler — Viaje has never officially confirmed the internal blend, true to founder Andre Farkas’s habit of keeping details close to the vest. The cigar is finished with a closed foot and a long pigtail cap designed to mimic a dynamite fuse, and every release ships in a themed crate of 75 cigars built to resemble a box of explosives. TNT debuted in 2010 and has returned only periodically since — 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2021, and 2023 — with the vitola growing from its original 6¼ x 54 to this larger 6½ x 56 starting in 2021.

Full-bodied and bold, this cigar delivers black pepper, dark chocolate, earth, leather, oak, and coffee, with a rich underlying sweetness balancing out the intensity.
