The Viaje Oro Reserva VOR No. 5 is a 5 1/2 x 52 box-pressed robusto whose Corojo 99 wrapper, binder and filler all come from Nicaragua. It is the Reserva edition of Viaje’s Oro blend.
What It Tastes Like
Cigar Aficionado first scored it 91 in a December issue, then 95 in its Top 25 retastings, naming it the No. 2 cigar of 2010 at medium-full strength. Its tasters picked up leather and sweet spice, then a dusty cocoa finish that kept sweetness and bite even. Cigar Coop’s 2011 review found salt at the light, then cocoa, coffee and building black pepper.

About the Viaje Oro Reserva
Andre Farkas has reissued the VOR No. 5 several times since 2010, including 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2020. Per Cigar Aficionado, the 2020 batch kept the original blend but drew on leaf from another harvest year, and each cigar came in gold-foil wrapping to mark ten years since its Top 25 finish.
