When Viaje announced its “Fifteen Plus Two and a Half” anniversary series, only three blends were originally revealed: Silver, Red, and Gold. As boxes began shipping to stores on February 17, some retailers discovered a fourth cigar had quietly arrived alongside them — the Black, a genuine retailer-exclusive never publicly announced. Like its siblings, it’s a 6 x 54 box-pressed Toro made entirely from Nicaraguan tobacco grown on Aganorsa Leaf’s own farms and rolled at their Estelí factory — but where Silver and Gold use a Criollo ’98 wrapper and Red uses Corojo ’99, the Black is finished in a dark Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper over a filler blend of both Corojo ’99 and Criollo ’98.

Flavor Profile

Full-bodied with a medium-full strength profile, reviewers describe a rich, dessert-like smoke — dark chocolate, cocoa, cream, cane sugar, earth, coffee bean, cedar, and toffee.
