The Perla del Mar Maduro Robusto is a 4 3/4 x 52 robusto that wraps a dark Connecticut broadleaf leaf around Nicaraguan binder and filler. J.C. Newman rolls it at its PENSA factory in EstelÃ, Nicaragua, and gives it a soft, rectangular box-press.
What It Tastes Like
We found no independent review of this robusto since the 2020 reblend, so we quote no score. J.C. Newman describes the Maduro’s profile as dark and robust. In a bigger format, Cigar Coop’s William Cooper reviewed the 6 x 60 Maduro Double Toro on November 24, 2022, picking up coffee and earth, some cedar, background dried fruit and pepper building late; a shorter cigar may smoke differently.

About Perla del Mar
J.C. Newman says the name honors cigars four Cuban brothers began rolling in 1905, named for the “Pearl of the Sea.” Revived in 2012, the brand was first made at Tabacos San Rafael before moving to PENSA, Cigar Aficionado reported. A rework shipped on Black Friday 2020 with more aged leaf, extra viso and new bands, while the Maduro kept its broadleaf wrapper.
