Construction & Origin

This 6 1/8 x 54 box-pressed toro is a Nicaraguan puro, wrapped in a Nicaraguan Maduro leaf over Nicaraguan binder and filler, hand-rolled at Tabacos Cubanica S.A. in Estelí. Unlike Padrón’s original Thousand Series, which uses tobaccos aged around 2.5 years, every vitola in the Serie 1926 line is built from leaf aged a minimum of five years before it’s ever rolled — a longer, more labor-intensive process that gives the line its reputation for depth and consistency. The Maduro wrapper undergoes an extended fermentation that darkens the leaf and mellows some of its natural bite, and the firm box-press holds up well over a long smoking session.
