The MBombay Gaaja Robusto Natural is a 5 x 54 robusto with an Ecuadorian Connecticut hybrid wrapper, an Ecuadorian HVA binder and filler from the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru and Paraguay. Cigar Aficionado reported in February 2017 that Bombay Tobak’s brands, Gaaja included, were made at Tabacos de Costa Rica.

The reviews we located cover the original 6 x 54 box-pressed Toro. Cigar Coop scored that Toro 94 on June 27, 2016, calling strength and body medium, and noted wood, herbs and natural sweetness, then cedar spice, cream and retrohale pepper. Stogie Press (June 30, 2016) found leather, pepper and fruit early, then a cocoa aroma and a nutty sweetness. Bombay Tobak calls Gaaja medium-bodied, with hazelnut, pastry, cappuccino and ginger.

About the MBombay Gaaja
Mel Shah’s Bombay Tobak released Gaaja on July 1, 2016 as a single box-pressed toro after several years of blend development, taking the name from the Sanskrit word for elephant. A Brazilian Mata Fina maduro version arrived in 2017, and Gaaja returned when MBombay relaunched in late 2024, according to Cigar Coop.
