The Gurkha San Miguel Robusto is a 5 x 52 Nicaraguan puro: a shade-grown corojo wrapper over a two-leaf Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler, all grown by Aganorsa Leaf. Gurkha brought the San Miguel name back in 2020 and had this blend made at the TABSA factory in EstelÃ.
What It Tastes Like
halfwheel’s review of this exact robusto (no score given) found creamy peanut up front, backed by earth, cedar, bitter coffee and baking spice, with black pepper and a faint almond-paste sweetness. Toasted bread took over in the middle, then peanut came back late alongside cocoa, hay and leather. Overall the reviewer liked it but found it fairly simple, giving credit to the draw and the heavy smoke output.

About the San Miguel
Gurkha calls San Miguel a grandfathered brand that it revived in an August 2020 announcement. It was the third Gurkha line made at TABSA, after the Treinta and the Nicaragua Series, and shipped in three sizes: Petite Corona, Robusto and Toro.
