Construction & Origin

This Perfecto vitola measures 6½” x 60, entirely composed of Dominican-grown tobaccos, including the same sun-grown wrapper leaf grown at Chateau de la Fuente that first put Opus X on the map back in 1995. The classic Perfecto shape — tapered at both ends, a rounded head and closed foot, bulging in the middle — genuinely adds to the smoking experience here, delivering a gradual evolution of flavor and strength as it burns rather than a flat, single-note profile. It’s handcrafted at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia, presented in commemorative packaging, and produced in extremely limited quantities.

Flavor Profile

Medium building to medium-full bodied, evolving in real waves as the cigar progresses — cedar, baker’s spice, and natural tobacco sweetness open things up, moving into cherry sweetness, cream, and black pepper through the middle, before settling into darker spice, wood, and rich tobacco by the final third. Burn performance is generally excellent, though the Perfecto shape does call for a careful, deliberate light to start things off right.
