The Crowned Heads Four Kicks Mule Kick LE 2019 Toro is a 5 7/8 x 52 cigar with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler, rolled in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera La Alianza, the factory of Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. It is the 2019 edition of Mule Kick, a Four Kicks offshoot that wore a different wrapper in each annual edition from 2017 to 2020.
What It Tastes Like
Cigar Coop’s William Cooper scored it 90 (“Buy One”) on May 26, 2020. Wood, fruity sweetness, earth and black pepper opened it; the fruit turned caramel-like mid-cigar, and wood led the final third. He rated strength medium, with body rising to medium-full late. The Blind Man’s Puff blind panel also scored it 90 (October 25, 2019), rating it medium-strong and noting cinnamon, toast, leather, sourdough-like bread and a peppery finish; one panelist added chocolate, coffee and cedar.

About Mule Kick
Four Kicks was the first Crowned Heads line. Mule Kick began in 2012 as the Four Kicks blend under a darker Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, came back as an annual edition in 2017, and moved to Sumatra for 2019 over a lightly modified version of the original blend. Co-founder Jon Huber said the Sumatra leaf gave the blend more flavor and complexity.
