Description
The Diamond Crown Julius Caeser Robusto is a 4 3/4 x 52 robusto: Ecuadorian Havana-seed leaf outside and a Dominican binder. Cigar Aficionado lists the filler as Dominican, while J.C. Newman describes it as Caribbean and Central American leaf. It is the shortest size J.C. Newman lists for the line, made at the Fuente factory in the Dominican Republic for J.C. Newman.
What It Tastes Like
Cigar Aficionado rated the Robusto 92 points and placed it No. 14 on its Top 25 cigars of 2014. Cigar Coop’s February 2019 review landed at 89, with medium strength and medium body. Coffee and wood led, backed by lemon and red pepper, and the wood later turned toward sweet cedar spice while trading the lead with coffee.

About Julius Caeser
The Robusto is the size that put this blend on Cigar Aficionado’s 2014 Top 25, three years after the Pyramid made the 2011 list. J.C. Newman introduced the line in 2010 for the company’s 115th anniversary and named it after its founder, whose portrait appears on the band.
Pairing and Storage
Since Cigar Coop picked up coffee, black coffee or a Rioja suits this short smoke; more medium-strength matches are in our what to drink with a cigar guide.
