Description

The Arturo Fuente Casa Cuba Doble Tres measures 5 1/2 x 44 and pairs an Ecuadorian Havana wrapper with Dominican-grown, Cuban-seed binder and filler. It belongs to Casa Cuba, the line Carlos Fuente Sr. blended to echo the Cuban tobacco he worked with early in his career.

What It Tastes Like

In December 2018, Cigar Aficionado gave the Doble Tres 93 points at medium strength; its panel found wood and spice first, then clove, citrus and nutmeg, ending on a dark-chocolate note. The August 2020 tasting scored it 91 and called it medium-full, with fruit and flowers giving way to earthy spice and a hickory-smoked, meaty edge. By October 2023 it earned 92 at medium, opening with sweetness and leather before a nutty middle with sharp cedar and some dried fruit.

Who It’s For

  • Fans of slim smokes who prefer a 44 ring to a chunky robusto.
  • Smokers curious about a Cuban-style blend from a Dominican factory.
  • Anyone on a shorter break.

  • Its thin ring may feel light to fans of fat, heavy cigars

Pairing and Storage

At a mostly medium strength, the Doble Tres suits bourbon, Rioja or a cup of coffee; our cigar pairing guide explains why.
