Description
The Rocky Patel Number 6 Toro is a 6 1/2 x 52 cigar with a Honduran Corojo wrapper and Honduran binder over Honduran and Nicaraguan filler. Rocky Patel makes it at its El Paraíso factory in Honduras and rates the Number 6 blend medium in strength.
What It Tastes Like
In a July 2022 article, Cigar Aficionado reported that this Toro earned 90 points from Cigar Insider’s blind tasters in June 2020. Retail notes lean sweet: Cigars International and JR Cigar both center on honey, with coffee, earth and bread. Reviewing the shorter Robusto in September 2020, Cigar Coop scored it 89 and found pepper, cedar and earth, with a spicy, uneven first third.
Who It’s For
- Smokers who like a sweeter, honey-toned profile at medium strength.
- Corojo wrapper fans who want a Honduran-made Rocky Patel.
- Anyone who finds the Number 6 Robusto too brief and wants the longer, thicker format.
Pros and Cons

- Mostly Honduran blend under a Corojo wrapper

- Cigar Coop’s Robusto review (a different size) found the start unbalanced
About the Number 6
The Number 6 debuted at the 2019 IPCPR trade show, and early reports differ on the Toro’s ring: Cigar Coop’s August 2019 launch report listed 50, while halfwheel’s shipping report and Rocky Patel give 52. Cigar Aficionado later named the 6 x 44 Corona No. 9 on its Top 25 of 2020 at 95 points, a score for that size only.
Pairing
At medium strength, this Toro matches the medium column of our cigar pairing guide: an after-dinner espresso, a pour of bourbon or a balanced Rioja.
