Quesada Oktoberfest Cigars: A Guide to the Series and the 2025 Lineup

Quesada Oktoberfest is an annual seasonal cigar series from Quesada Cigars, blended to pair with the German beer served at Oktoberfest. The line debuted in 2011, and its sizes, blends and packaging have changed over the years.

This guide covers where the series came from, who makes it, the five sizes in the 2025 edition, and what is new for 2026. We carry three of the 2025 cigars: the Kaiser Ludwig, the Bavarian and the Uber.

What Is Quesada Oktoberfest?

Quesada introduced Oktoberfest in 2011 as a seasonal cigar blended to go with German beer, as Cigar Aficionado describes it. More recent coverage ties it to Märzen, the style traditionally poured during Oktoberfest.

The series returns with a new edition most years. By 2019, Quesada had offered it in nearly 20 vitolas, according to halfwheel. halfwheel reported that no Oktoberfest edition reached U.S. stores in 2018, and the line returned in 2019.

The blend has changed too:

  • Early editions: Generally Dominican puros, meaning every leaf came from the Dominican Republic.
  • Nicaraguan versions: Some vitolas were made by Plasencia in Nicaragua as Nicaraguan puros.
  • Since 2021: The 10th Anniversary edition switched to a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, keeping Dominican tobacco inside. A Mexican wrapper has been part of the line ever since.

Who Makes Quesada Oktoberfest Cigars?

Oktoberfest is made by Quesada Cigars, a family company in the Dominican Republic. Its roots go back to 1974, when Manuel Quesada’s company, Manufactura de Tabacos S.A. (MATASA), began making cigars in a free trade zone in Santiago. In 2019, Cigar Aficionado reported that the company had made cigars continuously since then and was working from a larger factory in a free zone in Licey.

Several members of the family work in the business. Raquel Quesada was the company’s president when the 2025 edition was announced. Cigar Coop reports that the 2025 cigars were produced at the TABADEX factory in the Dominican Republic.

The Quesada Oktoberfest 2025 Lineup

The 2025 edition uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, a Dominican binder and Dominican filler. The regular U.S. lineup comes in five sizes:

Vitola Size Shape
Bavarian 5 1/2 x 52 Not specified
Kaiser Ludwig 6 x 49 Box-pressed
Das Boot 6 x 52 Torpedo
Uber 6 x 65 Not specified
Salomon Press 6 3/4 x 50 Double-tapered, box-pressed

halfwheel also reported a sixth 2025 size, the Munich, a 5 x 50 short perfecto released only in Canada.

The 2025 packaging brought back the blue packaging and bands last used in 2016, and Quesada changes the box presentation each year.

The Salomon Press was previously released only at events. For 2025, Quesada added it to the regular lineup.

Quesada showed the 2025 edition at the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show in spring 2025. The cigars began shipping to retailers in August 2025, ahead of the Munich festival, which ran from September 20 to October 5 that year.

The Three 2025 Sizes We Carry

All three share the 2025 blend: Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Dominican binder and Dominican filler.

Quesada Oktoberfest 2025 Kaiser Ludwig: A 6 x 49 box-pressed cigar. Its 49 ring gauge makes it a little slimmer than the 52-ring Bavarian and Das Boot.

Quesada Oktoberfest 2025 Bavarian: A 5 1/2 x 52 cigar and the shortest of the five U.S. sizes.

Quesada Oktoberfest 2025 Uber: A 6 x 65 cigar. At 65 ring gauge, it is the thickest of the five U.S. sizes.

You can see every Quesada cigar we list on our Quesada brand page.

What Reviewers Have Said

We did not find an independent review of the 2025 edition. The closest match is Cigar Coop’s review of the 2021 10th Anniversary Bavarian, which was published on January 31, 2022. That cigar shared the 2025 Bavarian’s 5 1/2 x 52 size and used the same wrapper, binder and filler origins. Note that it was a different year’s release.

In that review, William Cooper described a short burst of black pepper at the start, followed by baker’s cocoa, coffee and cedar. He found the cocoa moved from sweet toward bitter, and the pepper grew stronger near the end. He rated the strength and body as medium.

For the 2025 edition, Raquel Quesada said the 2025 edition continues the company’s tradition of delivering “a rich and flavorful smoking experience.”

How to Enjoy Quesada Oktoberfest

Quesada designs the cigar to pair with Märzen and other Oktoberfest-style beers, so a Märzen is the pairing the company has in mind. For more pairing ideas, see our cigar pairing guide.

If you plan to keep a few for later, store them at stable humidity. Our humidor basics guide covers the right settings.

Is There a Quesada Oktoberfest 2026?

Yes. Quesada announced the 2026 edition in April 2026 and showed it at the 2026 PCA trade show. It marks the series’ 15th anniversary. It uses the same blend as 2025.

  • Sizes: The same five vitolas as the 2025 U.S. lineup: Bavarian, Kaiser Ludwig, Das Boot, Uber and Salomon Press.
  • Blend: Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Dominican binder and Dominican filler.
  • Family: Co-owner Patricia Quesada said the family’s fifth generation helped develop this blend, among the first they have worked on.
  • Packaging: 2026 is the last year for the current packaging. Starting in 2027, Oktoberfest moves to the company’s new brand identity.

The 2026 cigars began shipping to retailers on August 31, 2026, according to halfwheel. We do not currently carry the 2026 edition. The Kaiser Ludwig, Bavarian and Uber linked above are all from the 2025 release.
