Description

The Rocky Patel The Edge A-10 LE Sixty is a 6 x 60 cigar wearing two wrappers at once, a Honduran Corojo leaf and a Costa Rican maduro leaf wound in a barber-pole spiral. Inside, per Cigar Coop, are a Honduran binder and Nicaraguan plus Panamanian filler.

What It Tastes Like

We found no published review of this Sixty, so the notes below come from the 6 x 52 Toro, the same blend in a slimmer format. Cigar Coop scored the Toro 90 in December 2015, rating it medium, with espresso and cedar backed by hay and white pepper. halfwheel scored a March 2016 re-review of the Toro 91; that smoke drifted from cedar and bitter cocoa toward pistachio, coffee bean and a peanut-butter sweetness.

Who It’s For

  • Fans of fat ring gauges wanting the A-10 at 60 ring.
  • Smokers torn between Corojo and maduro who want both.
  • Edge regulars who know the Corojo and Maduro versions separately.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Two wrappers meant to add Corojo spice to maduro sweetness, per Nish Patel in Cigar Aficionado (2015)
  • The Toro earned 90 from Cigar Coop (December 2015) and 91 in halfwheel’s March 2016 re-review

Cons

  • Reviews cover the Toro, not this 60-ring size
  • halfwheel’s original Toro review reported a wandering burn line that forced repeated touch-ups

About The Edge A-10

Pairing and Storage

Because Cigar Coop kept tasting espresso in the Toro, try this Sixty beside a cup of espresso, or reach for a bourbon, one of the medium-strength picks in our cigar pairing guide.
