Description
The Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Veronas Court Tubo is a 5 1/2 x 44 corona packed in its own aluminum tube. Under the Ecuadorian Connecticut-shade wrapper sit a Nicaraguan binder and filler blending Nicaraguan with Dominican leaf, and it is rolled for Altadis U.S.A. at Tabacalera de Garcia in the Dominican Republic.
What It Tastes Like
Two Cigar Aficionado ratings cover the Verona’s Court in this 5 1/2 x 44 size, neither saying whether the sample was tubed. The April 2006 issue awarded 89 points, noting sweet wood, nuts and toast, a sugary close, and judged it stronger than its appearance hints, with body landing between medium and full. Back in April 2004 it earned 91 points for an oily-looking leaf, a free draw, dense spice with leather, and a cedar finish.
Who It’s For
- Travelers and golfers who need a cigar that survives a pocket or bag.
- Corona devotees who like a slim 44 ring over a chunky robusto.
- Shade-wrapper smokers open to a mostly Nicaraguan interior.

About the Dominican Reserva Real
JR Cigars presents Reserva Real as a creamier, gentler sibling of Romeo y Julieta 1875, rolled at the brand’s La Romana factory with mostly Nicaraguan filler. This tubo uses that original Dominican recipe, not the all-Nicaraguan Reserva Real Nicaragua from A.J. Fernandez, which began shipping in March 2020.
Pairing and Storage
Since retailers call it medium, the medium picks in our cigar and drink pairing guide, such as bourbon or espresso, fit well. The tube suits a day out; our humidor storage guide handles longer stays.
