The Highclere Castle Edwardian Robusto is a 5 x 50 robusto with a Connecticut Shade wrapper, a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and Nicaraguan filler, Foundation Cigar Co.’s original Highclere Castle blend. Foundation says the filler includes Nicadan, a Criollo-Corojo hybrid grown in Jalapa and on Ometepe.
What It Tastes Like
Foundation calls the Edwardian smooth and mild to medium, listing pepper, citrus and leather. We found no dated outlet review of the Robusto itself. Reviewing the 6 x 52 Toro in October 2018, Cigar Coop’s William Cooper scored it 91 and noted cream, toast, cedar, berry and black pepper, with body running ahead of strength.

About the Highclere Castle Edwardian
Cigar Aficionado reported in June 2017 that Foundation and Highclere Castle Cigar Co. modeled the brand on what the Earl of Carnarvon’s ancestors might have smoked in the early 1900s, with a U.S. launch on September 1, 2017. The darker, Habano-wrapped Victorian was introduced at the 2019 industry trade show, and Foundation now lists the first blend as the Edwardian.
