Description
The Diesel Whiskey Row Founder’s Collection Raceking Toro is a 6 x 52 cigar with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper around a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler. Its binder leaf was aged in barrels that once held Rabbit Hole’s Raceking bourbon, which is where the name comes from.
What It Tastes Like
We could not find a dated review of this cigar from an independent outlet, so here is how the maker describes it. Diesel calls the Raceking full-bodied and lists cocoa, a nutty quality and earthiness as its main flavors.
Who It’s For
- Bourbon drinkers curious how a whiskey barrel shapes a binder rather than a wrapper.
- Experienced smokers comfortable with a full-bodied Nicaraguan blend.
- Whiskey Row collectors working through Diesel’s Rabbit Hole collaborations.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Binder aged in Rabbit Hole Raceking bourbon barrels
- Rolled at the AJ Fernandez factory in EstelÃ
Cons
- Only one size is made, so there is no shorter option
- Full body may overwhelm a beginner
- No independent scored review to lean on yet
About the Founder’s Collection
Diesel’s own page presents the original Whiskey Row as a joint project of Louisville’s Rabbit Hole Distillery and blender A.J. Fernandez. Cigar Coop counts the Raceking as the fifth Diesel and Rabbit Hole project; it debuted at the 2025 PCA show in New Orleans and was set to reach shops on May 1, 2025, just ahead of that year’s Kentucky Derby.
Pairing and Storage
Diesel suggests bourbon, rye or a brown ale with this cigar. Our cigar pairing guide adds ideas for full-bodied smokes, such as aged rum or a barrel-aged Old Fashioned.
