Description
The Ceniza Fina Corojo Toro is a 6 x 50 toro wrapped in Ecuadorian corojo, with a Mexican binder and a filler of Dominican criollo 98, piloto cubano and HVA plus Nicaraguan Jalapa leaf. Tabacalera La Isla in Santiago, Dominican Republic, makes it for Sam and Rosie Lopez of Fine Ash Cigars.
What It Tastes Like
We found no published review of the Toro itself, so these notes come from other sizes. Stogie Press scored the Corojo Robusto (5 x 50) 92 points on June 13, 2025, and called it medium: a rough, peppery start gave way to sweet tobacco, cracker and a jammy fruit note, then nuts, cocoa and light cream late. halfwheel’s review of the 6 x 46 Corona Gorda centered on almonds, cedar and florals with cocoa nib, toast and leather beneath, and placed the strength just past medium by the final third.

About the Ceniza Fina Corojo
Ceniza Fina means “fine ash” in Spanish, echoing the Lopezes’ Glendale, Arizona, shop. The Corojo was the brand’s debut blend, announced in January 2024 in three sizes, with a box-pressed 5 1/2 x 56 Robusto Gordo added that August. A Connecticut blend followed at PCA 2025 and a CT Broadleaf at PCA 2026.
