Description
The Camacho Powerband Toro is a 6 x 50 cigar with an Ecuadorian Habano 2000 wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés Negrito binder and a five-tobacco filler from Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Three of the five are ligeros: Corojo ligero from Nicaragua and from Honduras, plus a Dominican San Vicente ligero.
What It Tastes Like
Cigar Coop scored the Toro 91 in July 2016, finding cocoa, citrus, leather and red pepper up front, with natural tobacco taking over in the middle and pepper building through the back half. Cigar Insider, Cigar Aficionado’s newsletter, was cooler on it, giving 85 points on July 5, 2016 and noting anise, cedar and raw cocoa before a sharp, acidic turn. Both outlets rated it medium-full or stronger.
Who It’s For
- Ligero lovers who want a filler built around three heavier priming leaves.
- Toro smokers who like a 50 ring without stepping up to a 60 gauge.
- Pepper fans who like spice that builds toward the final third.

About the Powerband
Camacho began shipping Powerband to U.S. shops in June 2016 as the second entry in its Master Built Series, after American Barrel-Aged. Cigar Aficionado reported that it is bunched using a mix of two techniques, which a marketing executive at parent company Davidoff of Geneva USA said improves airflow and combustion.
Pairing and Storage
With a medium-full profile, this toro sits where bourbon or an aged rum from our cigar pairing guide can stand up to its pepper.
