The Drew Estate S84, also known as the Blackened S84 “Shade to Black,” is a medium-bodied cigar from a collaboration between Metallica’s James Hetfield, Blackened Whiskey Master Distiller Rob Dietrich, and Drew Estate founder Jonathan Drew. Released as the follow-up to the full-bodied M81 maduro cigar, the S84 uses the same hearty core of filler and binder, but swaps the wrapper for an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade leaf.
Unlike the average mild Connecticut, the S84 uses its broadleaf core to deliver a creamy yet robust smoking experience. The result is a richer, more complex version of a Connecticut cigar with flavors of cream, cocoa, espresso, dark chocolate, and leather with additional notes of toast, nutty flavors, baking spices, and a hint of pepper.
