Blackened S84 Shade Corona, also known as “Shade to Black,” is a 5″ x 40 cigar from the collaboration between Metallica’s James Hetfield, BLACKENED American Whiskey’s Rob Dietrich, and Drew Estate. It pairs an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper with the same Broadleaf-based binder and filler core as the full-bodied M81, producing a medium-full smoke with cream, cocoa, espresso, dark chocolate, and leather.

About the Blackened S84 Shade Corona

S84 was released as the follow-up to the original M81 Maduro, keeping the same hearty Connecticut Broadleaf binder and Nicaraguan-and-Pennsylvania Broadleaf filler core but swapping the wrapper for Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade. That Broadleaf core underneath a Shade wrapper is what gives S84 more richness and complexity than a typical mild Connecticut cigar. This corona vitola brings the blend into a slimmer 5″ x 40 format.
