Viaje Zombie Black 5.5 x 54

Description

The Viaje Zombie Black is part of one of Viaje’s longest-running and most devoted cult followings — a line founder Andre Farkas built around a genuine apocalypse mythology stretching back to 2011.

Construction & Origin

This 5½ x 54 figurado carries a tapered, closed foot and was released as part of Viaje’s Collector’s Edition designation — cigars made once, in a single production run, with no plans for a repeat. The Zombie storyline ties directly into Farkas’s earlier Skull and Bones WMD and MOAB releases: after those fictional weapons “detonate,” survivors are transformed into zombies, a narrative that’s since spawned a whole family of spin-offs, including Zombie Biohazard, Zombie Antidote, and Zombie Super Shot. True to Viaje’s tradition of secrecy around the Zombie line specifically, the Black band’s exact wrapper, binder, and filler have never been officially disclosed — historically, the color-coded bands have signaled different cover leaves, with Black generally indicating a natural or unique cover leaf distinct from the Green (Criollo) and Red (Maduro) versions.

Flavor Profile

Full-bodied and genuinely potent, reviewers consistently describe rich notes of cedar, brown sugar, dry nutmeg, earthy black coffee, and real black pepper intensity, developing into citrus and deeper roasted flavors as the smoke progresses. The tapered, closed foot requires a bit of extra care to light, but opens into a strong, satisfying draw once underway.

Why It’s Sought After

The Zombie line has built one of the most dedicated fanbases in all of Viaje’s catalog, and the Collector’s Edition designation means this is a true one-and-done release — once it’s gone, this exact blend and shape won’t return. For Viaje collectors who’ve followed the Zombie storyline since 2011, the Black edition represents one of the more mysterious, sought-after chapters in a genuinely elaborate ongoing narrative.
