Description
The Perdomo 20th Anniversary Maduro Gordo measures 6 x 60 and is rolled entirely from Cuban-seed tobacco grown in Nicaragua, with a dark maduro wrapper over matching binder and filler. Perdomo’s current line page says the wrapper ages eight years and then sits 14 months in bourbon barrels; the 2012 launch release put the pre-barrel aging at more than six years.
What It Tastes Like
Perdomo pitches the Maduro blend as sweet-leaning and layered, ending on semi-sweet chocolate and espresso. Descriptions of it mention creamy coffee with spice, earth, pepper and cocoa. Cigar Aficionado scored the larger 7 x 56 Maduro Churchill 87 in June 2014 and 85 (medium-full) in December 2016, noting oak and cocoa that gave way to earthier flavors.
