The Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro Torpedo is a 6 1/2 x 52 box-pressed torpedo with a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler. It was the shape that introduced the Melanio Maduro in 2013.

Gregory Mottola noted sweet wood, a briny edge and dried fruit, crediting the narrow head with focusing the smoke. About the Serie V Melanio Maduro
The name honors Melanio Oliva, a 19th-century Cuban tobacco grower. Per Cigar Aficionado, the Maduro was slated to debut at the July 2013 IPCPR show, a year after the original Melanio; Cigar Coop reports a Toro, Double Toro and No. 4 joined in 2021.
