Liga Privada Unico LP40

Description

The Liga Privada Unico LP40 is one of Drew Estate’s most elusive Unico Serie releases, a lancero-format cigar built for smokers who want the classic Liga Privada blend stretched into a longer, slower-burning experience. At 7 x 40, it’s a favorite among aficionados who track down every limited variation the line has to offer.

Construction & Origin

The LP40 pairs a Connecticut Habano wrapper with a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and a filler blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos, the same core recipe found across the Unico Serie. Every cigar is hand-rolled at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Esteli, Nicaragua, where Drew Estate’s master blenders oversee small, limited production runs of this line. The slim 40 ring gauge and 7-inch length give the tobaccos a longer column to develop in, producing a cooler, more nuanced smoke than the line’s shorter vitolas.

Flavor Profile

Full-bodied from the first third, the LP40 opens with black pepper and cedar before settling into a core of dark cocoa, roasted coffee, and warm baking spice. The Connecticut Habano wrapper lends a subtle sweetness that balances the filler’s earthiness, while the extended lancero format allows the blend to unfold gradually, revealing notes of dried fruit and leather as it burns toward the final third.

Why It’s Sought After

Unico Serie releases are produced in limited quantities and often disappear from shelves quickly, and the lancero format only adds to the LP40’s cult following among collectors who prize hard-to-find sizes. For fans of the Liga Privada line, it offers a rare chance to experience the brand’s signature intensity in a longer, more refined smoke.
