Liga Privada No. 9 Belicoso Oscuro

Description

The Liga Privada No. 9 Belicoso Oscuro brings Drew Estate’s legendary flagship blend to a tapered 6 x 52 belicoso format. Originally a private stash reserved for Drew Estate’s own master blender, the No. 9 was eventually released to the public because it was simply too good to keep in-house.

Construction & Origin

The No. 9 pairs a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper with a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and a filler blend of Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos, rolled by some of the most skilled torcedores at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Esteli, Nicaragua. The belicoso’s pointed cap concentrates the smoke as it draws through the tapered head, intensifying the blend’s flavors compared to the line’s parejo vitolas.

Flavor Profile

Rich and full-bodied, the No. 9 Belicoso Oscuro opens with black pepper and baker’s spice before developing into a decadent core of sweet cream, dark cocoa, and roasted coffee. The Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper contributes an earthy sweetness that balances the blend’s natural intensity, while the belicoso’s tapered shape brings a more concentrated draw and a richer, denser smoke from the first light.

Why It’s Sought After

As the cigar that put Liga Privada on the map, the No. 9 has earned a reputation as one of the most iconic blends in modern cigar history, and the belicoso vitola gives fans of the line a bolder, more intense way to experience it. Its distinctive shape and dark, oily wrapper make it a standout choice for smokers who want the full No. 9 experience with extra drama.
