Description
GTO Anesthesia Toro Corojo
The GTO Anesthesia Toro Corojo is GTO Dominican Cigars’ fullest-bodied release to date, crafted by owner Dr. Oscar Rodriguez specifically to push the brand’s boundaries in strength and depth.
Construction & Origin
Released in 2017, Anesthesia is a true Dominican puro built entirely from Dominican-grown, Cuban-seed tobacco. The filler combines Dominican Cuban-seed leaf with aged Dominican Ligero for real depth and power, while the binder uses the same Cuban-seed Dominican tobacco to tie everything together. This Corojo-wrapped version is aged a full 8 years before release, rolled in a 6″ x 54 Toro at Tabacalera GTO Dominicana. It’s identifiable by its signature purple secondary band and foot ribbon layered over GTO’s standard red-and-gold primary band.
Flavor Profile
Full-bodied, bold, and composed — notes of mild black pepper open into earthy coffee and rich cocoa, with a finish that turns smooth, creamy, and gently spiced. Genuine strength delivered without turning harsh or leaving a lingering aftertaste.
Why It’s Sought After
Anesthesia was built to be GTO’s most powerful release, and it’s earned a reputation for delivering real intensity while staying composed and balanced — a rare combination. Historically distributed mainly in the Southeast U.S., it’s a cigar many collectors outside that region have had to seek out specifically, adding to its appeal among fans of bold, full-bodied Dominican smokes.
