The E.H. Taylor San Andres Gordo is the newest release in one of the cigar industry’s most notable bourbon crossovers — a collaboration between Scandinavian Tobacco Group and Sazerac Co.’s Buffalo Trace Distillery, the makers of E.H. Taylor bourbon.

Construction & Origin

This blend uses a dark, rich Mexican San Andres wrapper over a Criollo ’98 binder, with Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos underneath. It’s hand-rolled at TABACALERA LA ISLA in the Dominican Republic — the same factory behind the rest of the E.H. Taylor cigar line. Unlike some previous releases in this partnership, the San Andres does not use barrel-aged tobacco; instead, it’s built for balanced, straightforward craftsmanship designed specifically to complement E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch bourbon.

Flavor Profile

Medium-bodied and rich, the San Andres delivers notes of earth, baking spice, dark cocoa, and mixed nuts, with the San Andres wrapper adding depth and a slightly bolder edge compared to the original E.H. Taylor Corojo. It’s built to be smoked slowly alongside a pour of its namesake bourbon.
