Description
The Aganorsa Leaf Rare Leaf Reserve Maduro Toro is a 6 x 54 toro with a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper over a double Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler. Cigar Aficionado reported that it is rolled at Aganorsa’s factory in Estelí, using company-grown tobacco for everything but the wrapper.
What It Tastes Like
We found no independent, dated review of this Toro, so no score appears here. Cigar Aficionado’s April 2023 launch report described the blend as full-bodied, and Aganorsa’s Terence Reilly told the magazine its strength creeps up rather than hitting hard, becoming noticeable about an inch in. Aganorsa’s own page for the Rare Leaf line points to a Criollo 98-led profile with spice, earthiness and a light sweetness.
Who It’s For
- Maduro smokers who want a San Andrés wrapper on an all-Aganorsa Nicaraguan core.
- Fans of a thicker 54-ring toro who enjoy a fuller smoke that ramps up slowly.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Binder and filler grown on Aganorsa’s Nicaraguan farms (Cigar Aficionado, April 2023)
- Two binder leaves listed in the blend
Cons
- Built as a full-bodied cigar, so it may overwhelm someone used to mild smokes

Pairing and Storage
Since this maduro is blended on the full side, our cigar pairing guide steers toward sturdier glasses such as an aged rum or a peated single malt.
